TheCipher.com is probably the most interesting site I have come across for music theory. Developed by Roger Blumberg, TheCipher.com is the predecessor to Blumberg’s in-progress book currently titled “Blumberg’s Music Theory Cipher for Guitar and Other Stringed Instruments”.
TheCipher.com offers unique tools to help one better understand the fretboard. Blumberg breaks “the cipher” down to four main topics:
- A chromatic number line
- Translation tables
- Fretboard navigation using th Five Degree Calcualtion Line
- Built-in Pattern of Unisons and Octaves
TheCipher.com also has printouts/tables covering scales, chords, inversions, triads, etc.
