TC-HELICON Voicetone Harmony-G
About ten years ago, I bought a vocal harmony device, I can’t remember the brand. It was rack-mounted and required a MIDI keyboard to be connected to it. Singing into a microphone and playing a chord on the keyboard produced pitch-shifted harmonies. The trouble was, it sounded like a choir of robots, most unnatural and frankly, too embarrassing to use. It gathered dust until finally ending up in my growing heap of unwanted electronic scrap.
Recently, I saw a demo of the TC-Helicon Voicetone Harmony-G pedal. The harmonies it produced sounded much more like the real thing. Instead of a MIDI keyboard, it takes its instructions from an electric or electro-acoustic guitar. You strum a chord, sing into a microphone and the box makes the harmonies based upon what you are playing. I had to have one. Unlike the earlier disaster, this one is very impressive. Read more
Normandy Guitars – definitely not “tapping on a tin can”!
If you haven’t seen Normandy Guitars aluminum body archtop yet you are truly missing out. Not only do these things look SCHWEEEET, they sound like heaven. I think these guys may be on to something.
These things are aluminum body with maple neck and Gotoh hardware. They are available in multiple colors (anodized, powder coat, or chrome) and with either stop-tail or a Bigsby. Normandy builds their own pickups (overwound for higher output) for these things.
Normandy also has a “V” model as well as a bass line.
Oogle on the pics, check out the video, and listen to the samples.
This amp has balls, is balls, oh heck – the Balls Amp
http://ballsamps.com/m18.html
18 watt Balls M18 is based on the Marshall 18 watt.
According to the companies website:
The M18 is the perfect tool for recording and live performance with its surprising ability to cut through the mix on tape
or stage. Humbuckers sound fat and full. Single coils sound bright, but never brittle. P-90’s sound incredible as well.
Teye Guitars – works of art or just art?
Check out Teye Guitars – man these are fancy. Made in Austin, TX in either the A-Series or S-Series, these things look sweet! I’d love to get my hands on one to see how they sound.
They sure look nice!
