Normandy Guitars – definitely not “tapping on a tin can”!
If you haven’t seen Normandy Guitars aluminum body archtop yet you are truly missing out. Not only do these things look SCHWEEEET, they sound like heaven. I think these guys may be on to something.
These things are aluminum body with maple neck and Gotoh hardware. They are available in multiple colors (anodized, powder coat, or chrome) and with either stop-tail or a Bigsby. Normandy builds their own pickups (overwound for higher output) for these things.
Normandy also has a “V” model as well as a bass line.

Taylor Guitars – Loaded Pickguards
If you haven’t seen these this is a great concept. Changing pickups on the Taylor Solid Body is just a matter of grabbing a screwdriver and swapping out the preloaded pickguards. Never been easier! Be sure to check out the second video
