Not specifically guitar related – but this is amazing MUSIC.

The site playingforchange.com has some amazing stuff. As the site states,

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music.

The “Stand By Me” rendition is awe inspiring!

Great online tutorials

Over the course of learning to play guitar I’ve viewed MANY online tutorials and “play-alongs”. Many of these have been good and most of them have been marginal. However, I recently came across Mark McGuigan’s site mastertheguitar.co.uk – Man – I love Mark’s lessons. If I lived in the UK Mark would definitely be my instructor! Be sure to check them out.

With the decline in local music shops it is sometimes challenging for guitar players to “try before you buy” unless you want to go visit one of the big box stores. Thankfully, the power of the Internet allows us to fill in some of the blanks. Here is a great example. Boss has a cool web applet that lets you sample the sounds of their pedal line. Check it out.
